4 Sections: K-12 Championship, K-12 U1200, K-12th U700, and K-12th Unrated (uscf ID not required for the unrated section).

This scholastic event is closed to the first 300 registered

Every kid who plays in this tournament will get a free ticket to watch the Celebrity tournament and Super GM Match in the stadium right after the scholastic event ends! The scholastic is expected to end before the stadium events begins so everyone can go watch it afterwards. All kids will get a wristband that will give them access to enter the stadium. K-12th Championship- Trophies to top 3 individuals and top team. First place individually will play the first move of the Hans vs Vidit Super Grandmaster match.

K-12th U1200- Trophies to top 3 individuals and top team. First place individually will play the first move of the Hans vs Vidit Super Grandmaster match for round 2.

K-12th U700- Trophies to top 3 individuals and top team. First place individually will play the first move of the Hans vs Vidit Super Grandmaster match for round 3.

K-12th Unrated - Trophies to top 3 individuals and top team. First place individually will play the first move of the Hans vs Vidit Super Grandmaster match for round 4.

In the main event a team is defined as 4 or more players from the same school in the same section. Teams can be however large they would like to be. However when we calculate a teams score we only use the top 4 performing players from that team. To form a team, email us at UniversalChessTour@gmail.com with all the names of your team members, they should have already paid their entry.

Graduating seniors in class of 2024 may play this event.

Schedule

5 Rounds G30 D0. USCF Rated.

Projected schedule: 1st round, 9:00AM. 2nd round, 10:15AM. 3rd round, 11:30AM, 4th round, 12:45PM, 5th round, 2:00PM, Awards ceremony, 3:20PM. There will be an opening speech 15 minutes before the first round that is optional to attend.

This is a projected schedule, there may always be delays.

Registration and additional info

Online registration is $50 online, and will be $74 after June 14th. Online registration and will close at 11:59pm June 21st. There will be no registration available tournament morning on-site.

Notation is only required in the Championship section. Boards are provided, please bring clocks.

Entry is 80% refundable, but non-refundable within a week from the event.
